Drawings, travel journals

During my immersive stays in Japan, I sketched in the streets of Tokyo, on the islands and in the mountain villages.

These captured moments were transformed into strokes of ink with a pen or brush, into touches of watercolor or pastel. These are the Callilygraphies, somewhere between calligraphy and illustration.

Discover a contrasting decoration that tells the story of the city, a motif, the complicity of the Jizō statuettes, the memory of sharing sake, the ephemeral poetry of a bouquet of flowers.

Curiosity in the face of overloaded signs, the omnipresent bicycles, the contradictions between details and abundance, silences and human ebbs and flows, solitudes and bursts of altruism…
